I'm Caroline.
I’m a Communication Designer and Co-Design/Participatory Design specialist with over a decade of experience working alongside communities and researchers. My work spans research translation, creative facilitation and participatory storytelling. I oversee the ALIVE National Centre at the University of Melbourne’s creative outputs, publications, and digital platforms to help our research reach the people and communities that matters most.
I'm also a member of the Invest in Young Entrepreneurs (IYE) Pre-Accelerator Program, where I'm equipped as a young business leader developing KOKO the Talking Koala, a co-designed speech learning app for children with speech difficulties. Beyond my academic role, you’ll find me taking live visual notes at talks and events. As an Associate Graphic Recorder, I capture the essence of events in real-time, turning spoken words into engaging visual narratives that enhance audience experience and retention.
With over 10 years of experience in Communication Design, including a PhD in Design and a Master of Design (Communication) from Swinburne University, I also lectured in graphic design fundamentals, design portfolio and participatory design at Universities across Victoria. Teaching is something I genuinely love—it allows me to work closely with emerging designers and support them to think critically and experiment boldly in their practice.
Outside of work, I'm a passionate home cook who enjoys traveling and volunteering at my local church. I'm highly competitive in party games and love spending quality time with my family and friends.
